Last week we welcomed community members, partners, and families to our Laneview Campus Open House in San Jose. It was a great evening connecting with the community and sharing how Children’s Health Council is expanding support for children, teens, and families in the South Bay.

Guests toured the campus, met the CHC team, and learned more about Esther B. Clark School at our Laneview campus. Thank you to Council Member David Cohen for co-hosting and serving as MC. We’re excited to be part of the Berryessa community and look forward to what’s ahead.

Exploring Science Through Hands-On Learning 🧪

Students at Esther B. Clark School recently participated in a guided frog dissection as part of their science studies. This structured, hands-on experience supported their understanding of anatomy and how body systems work together.

With teacher guidance, students practiced observation, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry in a supportive classroom environment.

Experiences like this are one of the many ways students engage with science at EBC, building understanding through active exploration and thoughtful discussion.

Our Palo Alto and South Bay gyms are more than workout spaces, they’re environments built to support motivation, self-regulation, and confidence through movement. Designed with our EBC students in mind, these gyms offer a safe, welcoming place to build strength, focus, and independence.

Students have the opportunity to work out independently or earn the chance to work out with staff, making physical activity both empowering and engaging. Turning physical activity into a meaningful, motivating experience that celebrates growth and effort is always a PLUS.

We’re excited to share that Esther B. Clark School has moved its San Jose campus and officially opened at a beautiful new location at 2095 Warmwood Lane! 🎉

Opening day was made extra special thanks to the incredible support from our community. We were honored to celebrate with San Jose City Councilmember Cohen, along with local police and fire representatives, who joined CHC staff from across our programs to welcome students and families to the campus.

This move allows us to better serve students at Esther B. Clark School, and to expand in the future offering CHC's other services and programs.

We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make this move possible and look forward to continuing our work together to support students and families across the South Bay.

At EBC South Bay, The Grove is a nurturing space where students can regulate, refocus, and reconnect. The area features art activities and comfy couches. The growing sensory space includes kinetic sand and water orbeez. Each element is designed to support learning through calm and creativity.

Pictured here is a peaceful scene of collaboration and care. An occupational therapist helps a student with regulation, while a behaviorist shares a quiet reading moment with another student.

This Learning Differences Awareness Month, we asked our EBC teachers what drives their passion for supporting students with learning differences.

Their responses share a common belief that every learner holds unique potential waiting to be unlocked. Through compassion, patience, and specialized support, they help students grow not only academically but emotionally and socially too.

Because when students feel seen and supported, confidence follows. 💙
